Happy New Year! It has been a busy festive season at Rejuvenate, making sure everyone feels wonderful. We have been inundated with questions about detoxing after the party season so we thought we could share some great tips that work great for us and will be good for you all to try at home.
Ginger and lemon hot drink…
Give your immune system a boost, relive stress and get great skin and hair with a ginger and lemon hot drink. Ginger and lemon are rich in anti-oxidants and vitamins which are beneficial for perfect skin, hair and health. It also helps to improve the digestive system. Over the colder months add a little cayenne pepper, it’s an excellent immune booster and helps to boost the metabolism which naturally slows at this time of year. It’s the active component capsaicin in cayenne pepper that is also a well known joint pain reliever.
Start the day with a detox juice…
Vitamins and minerals are more easily absorbed on an empty stomach. We recommend using a Nutri Bullet to make your detoxing juice, which you can purchase online. This is one of our favourite recipes:
- 1 stalk of celery
- ½ cucumber
- 1cm ginger
- ½ cup parsley
- ½ lemon
- 1 green apple
- 1 cups spinach
Try body brushing for 30 days…
This will increase the circulation to the skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite. Body brushing also removes dead cells making the skin much brighter. Start on dry skin before taking a shower and work in gentle circular, upward motions. Always begin at the ankle in upward movements towards the heart – the lymphatic fluid flows through the body towards the heart, so it is important that you brush in the same direction.
